Sunday Morning Choir Practice
Nearly every week, the choir practices at the Hancock home. We go to a privae home because we have so many wards in our building, and it's just hard to find a time to practice in the chapel. So the Hancocks set up the chairs, and we sing for one hour before church. Our choir leader is fantastic, the accompaniest is phenomenal, and we have some truly amazing, strong singers . (BTW, more people showed up after I had taken this picture. Most of the chairs were filled.) The song we are singing for ward conference today gave me goose bumps. I could hardly sing the words...oh, music, what power you have to stir the soul.

Baking Day
When I used to go visiting teaching with Janet Gamble, she used to have loaves of freshly-made home-made bread on her counter. Two things amazed me about it: first, that she got it done so early in the mornings, and secondly, even more amazing to me was that she had not cut into one loaf of that delicious looking bread to sneak a taste. Now, that was discipline!
Me, I love to eat some good home-made bread. But, I love to share it too. I always think of more people to give it to, than I have loaves of bread. So, I guess I'll just keep making it!

Teaching Fractions
Her fingers were cut off in a lawn mower accident 25 years ago. But, what a fun attitude she has.
She told me that when she was teaching her 3rd graders how to learn fractions, she would hold up the finger on her right hand, and say, "This is one." Then holding up the finger on her left hand, she would say, "This is one and a half!" The kids loved it and they understood fractions! I loved her great attitude.

Visiting Teachers
Kim and Melissa are my visiting teachers; they are so awesome. For this month, they invited Amber and me over for lucnh at Melissa's home. She made a wonderful lettuce/chicken/wonton salad with home-made dressing. Kim made a fruit pizza for dessert. Good food, and truly great people. Thanks, Melissa and Kim.

Time to Clean Out the Cupboard
Okay, let's put it in the DI pile. It's overstayed its welcome, and it's time to move on to new decorations. I painted this a gazillion years ago, so it's okay to say good-bye.

Refrigerator Art
We just spent a few days going to the St. George Home Show. It's hard to even imagine living in some of the incredible homes we saw. They were extraordinary. AND, they were decorated so beautifully. But, missing in each of the 25 homes, were drawings by the children/grandchildren posted on the refrigerator.
Now, that really makes a house a home!

Painting By My Mother
I love this painting for two reasons: it's very beautiful, but more importantly, it was painted by my mother. It hangs over the bed in our bedroom.

Baptism Dress for TW
TW talked in church today. She wore her white dress and described how special her baptism day was. What a beautiful girl. I love having her in my Primary class.

The Great Story Teller
Garn has a lot of amazing stories to tell; they're true.
But not many were as dramatic as the story of how he burned the school house down when he was seven years old!

Faithful Home Teachers
Gordon Slagele and Mark Cottle
they faithfully come every month; I enjoy and appreciate them.
Today, brother Cottle told an inspiring story of his mother and her patriarchal blessing;
she had one when she was in her teens; lost it.
Then, later in her life, she wanted one and was granted permssion to have another one.
After having the seond one, she found the original, and they were very, very similar...only a few words were different. Years apart; totally different patriarch; similar blessing.
I loved that story.

Breakfast at the Hackworth Home
Take a handful of spinach, add a banana, pour in a glass of orange juice, and voila! Green slime, tasty and nutritious! Thanks for the recipe, Amber.
